COLLABORATION

CAM Raleigh was incubated as a collaboration between the NC State University College of Design and the Contemporary Art Foundation (CAF), a private 501(c)(3) organization. The two organizations worked together to form CAM Raleigh.

The Contemporary Art Foundation (CAF) is a 501(c)(3) organization that is separate and distinct from the CAM Initiative. CAF was founded in 1983 as the City Museum of Contemporary Art, and currently continues its mission of promoting the educational, cultural, and economic development of the Triangle art community through exhibitions and programming. As the sole owner of the West Martin Street property, CAF’s fiduciary responsibility includes procuring the financial support necessary to create, maintain, and operate the museum facility and its artistic and programmatic efforts.
