Artist Talk: Gibby Waitzkin
Join North Carolina-based artist Gibby Waitzkin on Wednesday, May 15 for a demonstration and walk-through of her work in the current exhibition Raleigh Fine Arts Society: North Carolina Artists Exhibition. Gibby will detail her unique process with handmade fibers and paper, tell the stories behind her pieces on view as a part of the exhibition, and her daily life as a working artist at Sarvisberry Gallery and Studio.

Gibby Waitzkin is a fiber artist, papermaker, and photographer. Her education and training focused on photography, printmaking, and arts education: University of Georgia, BS in education; Studies Abroad Program in art in Cortona, Italy; and postgraduate work at Georgia State University/University of Georgia. She lived in Washington, DC, and worked for over thirty-five years using her arts and design background on environmental, women’s rights, and arts issues. Gibby also founded Gibson Creative, an award-winning design and communications studio in Washington, DC.
