Hopscotch: The Range

James Hinton of Providence, RI, began recording looped drums and synthesizer on a Fostex machine at age 13. While studying physics at Brown University, he worked full-time under the alias Stegosaurus, producing two albums under that moniker. By 2010, he assumed the name The Range and began blending elements of footwork, skittering percussion, vocal samples, and global dance melodies with a keen knack for the build-and-release of truly mesmerizing electronic music.
