Privacy, Art and the Law
Thursday, August 8 | 6:00–7:30 p.m.
Please join us for a group discussion on privacy with attorney Pam Chestek and members of the legal and art communities about the lawsuit against photographer Arne Svenson for his series Neighbors. For the series the artist photographed his neighbors in their homes using a telephoto lens; one neighboring family objected so strongly that they sued Svenson. We will be talking about our expectation of privacy and its collision with artistic expression. Svenson’s photo Neighbors #11 is currently on view in the Currents exhibition in the Indy Week Gallery. Drinks and light snacks provided. Free for Members. $5 non-members. RSVP to Gab Smith at 919 513 8099 or firstname.lastname@example.org
