Poets Aaron Belz, Deborah H. Doolittle, and Jason Miller will read their poetry in conjunction with CAM Raleigh’s GirlTalk: Women and Text exhibition. The event is co-hosted by the poetry magazine Smartish Pace. In fourteen years the Baltimore-based magazine has published 808 poets, including a dozen Pulitzer Prize winners, and hosted numerous readings in Baltimore, the British Virgin Islands, Chicago, New York, and Washington, DC.

About the Poets:
Aaron Belz is the author of two books of poetry, The Bird Hoverer (BlazeVOX, 2007) and Lovely, Raspberry (Persea, 2010); a third, Glitter Bomb, is forthcoming from Persea. He lives in Hillsborough, North Carolina.
Deborah H. Doolittle teaches at Coastal Carolina Community College. Her chapbooks, No Crazy Notions (Longleaf, 2001) and That Echo (Longleaf, 2003), won the Mary Belle Campbell Poetry Book Award and the Longleaf Press Award, respectively.
Jason Miller is the author of Langston Hughes and American Lynching Culture (Florida, 2011). His poems have appeared in numerous reviews. He is an associate professor of English at North Carolina State University where he teaches courses in twentieth-century American poetry.
