Mixed-Media Sculpture for Middle Schoolers
Mixed-Media Sculpture with Cayce Lee
In this middle school workshop, students will work collaboratively to create mixed-media sculptures. Cayce Lee, a Raleigh-based artist and educator, will lead the workshop. The current exhibitions on view, Born Digital, and Chris Bradley–Close One (which opens on February 24) will serve as a jumping off point, inspiring the students as they use a variety of materials (found, repurposed, and some new) to complete their sculptures.
Cayce Lee is a graduate student in Fibers and Surface Design at NC State University College of Design, where she also teaches introductory coursework. Before moving to Raleigh, she taught art in the Winston-Salem public school system and at numerous non-profit art organizations. She is also a practicing artist and member of the Raleigh-based fiber group, the Common Seam Collective.
