So & So Poetry Series

By CAM Raleigh | November 11, 2015

The So & So Series began in Boston in 2006 and moved to Raleigh in 2008. Featuring both local and national poets, So & So has hosted more than 300 readers, including Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award winners. In order to connect more fully with Raleigh's arts community, So & So has partnered with CAM Raleigh once more for the 2015 season. Poets will be responding to pieces of their choosing in whatever exhibit is being shown at the time of their reading. The hope is that this will start a dialogue between the poets and the artists and may even lead to interesting and exciting collaborations.

This month's readers will be Keith Newton & Adra Raine.

Keith Newton is a writer and editor based in Brooklyn. He is the author of the chapbooks A Week of Kindness (Essay Press, 2015), Sent Forth to Die in a Happy City (Cannibal Books, 2009), and Instruments No Man Has Ever Seen (forthcoming from Berl’s). His writing has appeared in Denver Quarterly, 1913, Harvard Review, Sink Review, and Typo, among others. He is co-editor of The Harp & Altar Anthology (Ellipsis Press, 2010), a collection of writing from the online magazine Harp & Altar, which he founded in 2006, and is currently editorial director at Secret Behavior.

Adra Raine is a poet, filmmaker, teacher, and graduate student living in Durham, NC, and studying at UNC-Chapel Hill. She is currently working on a prose-poem chronicle of her first pregnancy and a dissertation on U.S. poetry and culture of the long 1980s.
