CAM Raleigh invites you to a community screening of ELLIS, a short film directed by the artist JR, starring Academy Award® Winner Robert De Niro and written by Academy Award® Winner Eric Roth.
Set in the abandoned Ellis Island Hospital complex and using JR’s UNFRAMED art installations, ELLIS tells the forgotten story of the immigrants who built America. It is the story of the ghosts of our country’s past; the individuals who fled poverty, discrimination and dictatorships for a chance at a new life and eerily foreshadows the plight of those who currently seek the same opportunities and safety in this country and other parts of the world.
JR continues to ask the question: “Can art change the world?” with his new short film ELLIS. Find out how art and film can open the doors to discussions that change our world.
Free admission. Seating is limited. Please RSVP to Melissa Roth at firstname.lastname@example.org.
