December FREE First Friday at CAM Raleigh is sponsored by North Carolina Modernist Houses. The evening includes the spectacular Surveying the Terrain exhibition, all-ages art to go in the Creation Station, a video showcase of modernist homes, pop up performances by Flying Erase Head, Exploris Middle School Docents, Food Trucks and so much fun.
Flying Erase Head is a performance by artist Bart Trotman. In Flying Erase Head, Trotman repurposes TV and video images and sets them to found sound collages and live electronic scoring. It is said that to see the future, we must look at the past. Trotman examines the recent past of TV and its offspring, home-video, and how they advanced our mythologies surrounding humankind’s unshakable compulsion to push the limits in the search for objective truth. Pop up performances at 7:30 pm and 8:30 pm.
