Middle School Art and Design Summer Studio
July 29-August 2, 2013 / 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. / $300
Open to middle school students, rising 6-8 grade
The Art+Design Summer Studio is a multidisciplinary program that dives into the wide world of design. It merges design thinking exercises with hands-on explorations and emphasizes the importance of the design process from the initial idea to the final product. Students will meet local artists and designers, begin to develop a unique voice, and will bring creative ideas to life by using the critical thinking techniques that artists, architects, and designers rely on to convey conceptual and real propositions. In the collaborative studio setting you will explore hand-drawing, printmaking, physical modeling, sculpture, collage, and many other forms of creative media.
