Angel Otero Artist Workshop
with artist-instructor Angel Otero
Registration is now closed. Thank you for your interest in our workshops. We hope you will join us for future programming at CAM Raleigh!
This workshop is open to high school students, grades 9-12.
Angel Otero: New Works is on view at CAM Raleigh October 19, 2012–February 4, 2013.
In this workshop, students have a chance to meet and work with exhibiting artist Angel Otero and learn about his artistic process. Students will use unconventional materials to create their own pieces utilizing a special transfer technique that Angel has used in some of his work.
Born in 1981 in Santurce, Puerto Rico, Angel Otero currently lives and works in New York City. Otero is a visual artist best known for his process-based paintings. While much of his works have been influenced by memories based in photographs and other family memorabilia combined with the gestures of 20th century painting, his latest works highlight the artist’s unique process as a form of narrative in itself.
Otero received his MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He was just named one of Art+Auction’s 50 Next Most Collectible Artists. Don’t miss out on the unique opportunity to work with this influential rising star artist!
Registration is now closed. Thank you for your interest in this workshop! We hope you will check out our upcoming workshop offerings.
At this time we are only able to accept payment by check made out to NC State.
Thank you for your interest in our workshops. We hope to see you soon!
